I love eating out but also like making the food I enjoy. I'm no pro, but it's a lot of fun. Look forward to more posts of my adventures at playing chef. ;) Here's when I felt like making something wholesome for lunch. What better than a fresh caprese salad, the ingredients are simple so it's important to have quality produce.
Used four organic vine tomatoes and fresh basil from Whole Foods.

Anthropologie. I'll capture more photos of it another time I'm sure. It's floral with lace and so darling I think I cook just so I can put it on.. Anyway, slice up the tomatoes and separate the basil leaves, super easy. The basil was so aromatic I literally stood there just smelling it for longer than I'd like to admit. Looking crazy is something I'm okay with.
Simple food, simple plating.
Added pesto infused fresh mozzarella from Whole Foods and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
Sprinkle a little sea salt and pepper (or a lot.. because I'm obsessed with pepper..) and all done. Bite size, clean and delicious goodness!

Caprese salad – great lunch idea - yum! I’ve had it for appetizers but never thought of making it for lunch. We have a small basil plant in the backyard, and the fresh, homegrown basil tastes fabulous on caprese…
