When you're happy like a fool, let it take you over

T by Alexander Wang blazer, Tracy Reese silk top, BCBGmaxazria lace shorts, Lanvin cutout booties

Haven't worn these killer Lanvin wrap cutout booties since my birthday, so where else is appropriate for their re-debut photoshoot than at a lot full of gravel. Newest proud achievement: successfully maneuvering through little rocks in 5-inch heels. Kept it all black except for the lovely fuchsia in the Tracy Reese tank with rich silk pleats and an adorable bow. Anyway, happy Friday and for all those in the US, have a fun Independence Day weekend!

Always buzzing just like neon

Acne blazer, Loden Dager tee, Forever 21 skirt, Gap neon belt, H&M sandals, Marc by Marc Jacobs tote

Here is the outfit to this post. This Acne cotton blazer is so thin it kind of only works on a warm summer evening.. rolled up the sleeves because I like the look of midsleeve blazers for fall (like this Marni one). I've been on the hunt for neon belts to no avail until one of my gfs tipped me on this neon yellow (and neon orange that I also acquired) one from Gap of all places. I've been into wearing monochromatic tones and these bright belts. Still on the search for a glitter belt, if you guys know where I can find one..

Tavern Law - Seattle, WA

Reliving our first date spot...

Baby lettuce, fava beans, pine nuts and chevre salad.

Burger with onion jam and pork belly. This burger comes with an "add pork belly" option, the first time we ordered it we asked the server if this meant the patty was subbed with pork belly, but she said it was in addition to. Um. Done and done. The onion jam is so flavorful and the pork belly makes the burger so juicy it melts in your mouth. This is one photo the boy took that didn't have my pesky little fingers in the background stealing fries (patience is a virtue..... that I'm working on).

Honey pork short ribs with cilantro and jicama.

One year ago my boyfriend took me here to Tavern Law for our first date so we thought it would be fun to revisit. A lot has changed in a year.. back then he took the photos with my dinky point and shoot (post here) and I was leaving the next day on a one-way trip to California for some soul searching. We kept in touch, and I'm glad my soul found what it was looking for. ;) Some things don't change, we still vibe and laugh and talk for hours.. I feel truly lucky of how happy we are together. Today he greeted me with lovely flowers aww. After finishing our meal, we called Needle & Thread, the speakeasy upstairs, and went through the Prohibition-esque staircase to a private space where they ditch the menu and make everything to order tailored to your tastes.

This heart will start a riot in me

Vince linen tee, Helmut Lang back cutout tank, Blank leather tights, Givenchy boots, Marc Jacobs spike ring

This weekend has been dreary.. suffering from borderline seasonal depression insanity. Hoping it'll be the last time I can wear these leather pants from Blackbird until fall comes around, though the drab weather does make for better brooding photoshoot conditions. Recently acquired this perfectly light cropped Vince tee for summer, layered it over a silk/jersey celestial print Helmut Lang tank with back cutouts that is subtly visible through the sheer linen, kind of a fun little peekaboo.

Hope you all have a lovely father's day.. I am thankful beyond words to be the baby girl of the best daddy in the world. ♥

If you want to be happy, be

Forever 21 linen cardigan, T by Alexander Wang low scoop back tank, Wilfred bandeau, Anthropologie shorts, Topshop leopard belt, H&M sandals, Banana Republic suede fringe bag

The weather has been really inconsistent and driving me crazy to the point of declaring blasphemous extremes (like "I hate this city" etc. Sorry Seattle, I didn't really mean it.. you know I hit a low point when summer gets delayed..) but yesterday it was finally sunny enough to wear shorts without looking desperately hopeful. Kept a natural color palette and let the neon yellow sandals pop, I got them for the fun bright color and simple straps, bonus: super easy to get in and out of (it's awful when you spend forever lacing and/or buckling). The linen cardigan is lightweight and perfectly slouchy and sheer so I end up rolling it into my purse and throwing it on all the time come mild summer evenings (so naturally I have it in white as well..) Happy Friday!

Geek in the pink

F-Troupe pink suede mesh oxfords

I find oxfords darling but I always look for a twist that stands out, ie: the other pair I have are metallic with cutouts. So I loved how different these F-Troupes are with the duo tone and texture so I had to hunt them down.

Time heals all, and heels hurt to walk in, but they go with the clutch that you carry your lip gloss in

Geren Ford silk slashed back shirt, BDG bandeau, Shipley & Halmos high waisted pants, Kate Spade satin pumps, Gap ruffly purse, Forever 21 necklace, Hermès bracelet

The full outfit of what I wore in this post, the look is feminine but with the surprising slashed back shirt so as to not be too girly and proper, I always like clothes with an element of intrigue. One of the most shocking things though would probably be that I got the adorable ruffly purse from Gap of all places like a decade ago, it's one of those kiddy treasures that you fall back in love with while closet cleaning one day, and just happens to match the Kate Spades perfectly. Most of my clothes are monochromatic so it's fun to let the accessories give pops of color.

Brighter than a hundred thousand suns

Forever 21 blazer, Kain stripe inset shirt, bow paper bag shorts from Hong Kong boutique, Gap bow flats, Banana Republic suede fringe bag, Chanel ring, Hermès bracelet

Finally broke 80 degrees today! It's been a very late start to summer this year, so we took full advantage of the weather, got coffee and macarons after church at Honore Artisan Bakery, strolled around the Ballard farmers' market nearby, and went to a BBQ for dinner. We also decided it was necessary to visit Full Tilt ice cream not once but twice in one day.. salted caramel on my first visit and then Thai iced tea. Ended the night on a bench by the water feeling happy in the simple warm night breeze, days should really be like this more often, easy.

Book Bindery - Seattle, WA

For my birthday dinner last month, my boyfriend took me to Book Bindery, a recently opened restaurant by Chef Shaun McCrain, who was the executive sous chef to Thomas Keller's New York City sensation, Per Se. Located under the Fremont Bridge by the ship canal in Seattle, the inside felt like you were in a luxurious Victorian reading room transported into a modern day warehouse with exposed raw wooden ceiling and polished concrete floors. I knew the food would not only be gorgeously plated, but also so fresh and wonderfully flavorful.. excited to eat!

Amuse-bouche: sunchoke gazpacho with white truffle cream.

Pork belly with watercress, apples, walnuts, and raspberry gelée.

White beans and clams with chorizo, tomato, and basil.

Seared halibut with brandade, spring radishes, and piquillo pepper vinaigrette.

Caramelized sea scallops with citrus supremes, sunchokes, and candied macrona almonds.

I was wearing the slashed back silk top by Geren Ford, a little sneak peak of an outfit post to come soon!
