red velvet macaroons

OHMYYY two of my favorite things. I must learn how to make this.

How adorable is this Hamburger Macaron from Eat Me Daily? Macarons are small treats, like about the width of two quarters, so the attention to detail is outstanding! The buns are coca-tinted, the burger is a slice of dried plum, the cheese is coffee buttercream, the lettuce is green decoration sugar, the mustard is a slice of dried apricot, and the ketchup is raspberry jam.

Whenever I’m at Le Panier Very French Bakery in Pike Place, Seattle, I always pick up some chocolate and pistachio macarons. Make your own with this recipe.

Yummmmm!
So the other day, I got in a debate about the correct way to say Nutella. Now, everyone in the world says “NUT-ella”, but my friend insists it’s “NEW-tella”. But we don’t say peaNEWT, walNEWT, chestNEWT. So how do you say it?

Brunch with one of my beautiful best friends Rebecca who just rolled out of bed and looks darling. At Portage Bay Cafe, one of my favorite spots for early day grubbing in all of Seattle. I always share the amazing french toast with three thick slices of organic challah bread dipped in organic egg batter, plus a trip to the toppings bar (fresh straw/blue/raspberries, nuts, brown sugar, and homemade whipped cream and maple syrup). Tried the organic shell pasta with spinach, black forest ham, bread crumbs and cheese for the first time and just could not stop eating it.

Watching Wicked

Date night:

1 | Boyfriend took me to Root Table, one of our favorite restaurants in Ballard. The furniture is made from teak tree imported from Thailand, we love the vibe. For tapas, we had curry stuffed mushrooms and salmon lettuce wraps. I had a curried pork chop that was slightly crispy outside and melted in my mouth. The restaurant has never failed to make our tummies very smiley.

2 | We watched Wicked at the Paramount, and. Oh. My. I’ve seen a lot of Broadway musicals, but Wicked is absolutely my favorite! I would watch it again, it’s that good. So glad boy bought pre-sale tickets for us.

3 | Went to support friends at a date auction at Q Cafe. Had two pieces of cheesy bread, some chicken wings, and a few Red Hooks. After, we all went to Charlie’s on Broadway at 3am and I had eggs benedict and hashbrowns. The eggs were so runny = love.

Tomorrow I am starting a water and exlax diet (not really, but anyone got the Never Been Kissed reference?) We’re going to Hawaii in a week and I haven’t worked out in 3 months and I eat like I’ve been stranded on a desert island for years and haven’t seen food. It’s ravenous. Anyway.. tangent. Date nights are great. :)

I always find myself browsing this site late at night when I am in bed and too tired to go to the kitchen and make a grilled cheese bacon donut fried twinkie sausage burger. I suppose my waistline rejoices but the fat kid inside is so sad that I choose sleep instead.

Also, I hiiiiighly appreciate that “you’re” is used correctly in the URL.
