Bottega Louie | moscato, chicken parmesan, margherita pizza (not pictured), macarons
One of my gfs took me when I was in town, and I instantly loved the ambiance for our catch up date. The interior of the restaurant is expansive and made of white marble, so pretty like a palace. I made sure to load up on macarons (one of my favorite treats) at their bakery before leaving.
Larchmont Bungalow | red velvet pancakes, Nutella and plantains French toast, applewood smoked bacon spinach eggs benedict on brioche
Red velvet is my favorite cupcake and sounded amazing in pancake form but in actuality is not such a good breakfast idea. The first bite was heavenly, and then some time in the next few bites I started to wonder if maple syrup was really necessary? As if the cream cheese frosting between each pancake and whipped cream are not sweet enough? I had a few bites of the French toast, which was amazing in the beginning as well. Only ordered the eggs benedict to even out our tastebuds after all the sugar.
Nobu | yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, pinot grigio, negi bluefin toro sushi, black cod with miso, uni shooter (not pictured)
All the fish was so good and melted my mouth, especially the cod, was so soft like butter. Enjoyed the simple yet savory preparations. Even liked the shooter, and I thought I didn’t like sea urchin.
More to come! Literally all I did in LA was shop, eat, and beach. As the eating continued, the beaching decreased (losing bikini body sob). I wish I was joking but I actually did gain like 15lbs on this 3-week trip, I’m appalled/impressed. Crossing fingers that my 12-year-old prepubescent boy metabolism won’t fail me just yet.
The french toast looks like it has a multiple personality disorder 🙂
this is such a lovely feature
