I like it in the city when two worlds collide – Hong Kong

The best thing about a city sometimes is how easily you can get away from the city. About a 30 minute minibus ride and goodie bag of snacks later, we made our escape from the noise and energy of Hong Kong to the oceanside town of Stanley. It’s usually very touristy because of Stanley Market, a bunch of colorful street shops that carry absolutely nothing you need (except for that stuffed animal panda, um where has it been my whole life?) but we went late Monday when the skies looked threatening with rain and the town was pretty desolate. Sometimes all you need is a little quiet, a good friend, and the sound of crashing waves to feel whole again.
