Tavern Law – Seattle, WA

Reliving our first date spot…
Baby lettuce, fava beans, pine nuts and chevre salad.
Burger with onion jam and pork belly. This burger comes with an “add pork belly” option, the first time we ordered it we asked the server if this meant the patty was subbed with pork belly, but she said it was in addition to. Um. Done and done. The onion jam is so flavorful and the pork belly makes the burger so juicy it melts in your mouth. This is one photo the boy took that didn’t have my pesky little fingers in the background stealing fries (patience is a virtue….. that I’m working on).
Honey pork short ribs with cilantro and jicama.

One year ago my boyfriend took me here to Tavern Law for our first date so we thought it would be fun to revisit. A lot has changed in a year.. back then he took the photos with my dinky point and shoot (post here) and I was leaving the next day on a one-way trip to California for some soul searching. We kept in touch, and I’m glad my soul found what it was looking for. 😉 Some things don’t change, we still vibe and laugh and talk for hours.. I feel truly lucky of how happy we are together. Today he greeted me with lovely flowers aww. After finishing our meal, we called Needle & Thread, the speakeasy upstairs, and went through the Prohibition-esque staircase to a private space where they ditch the menu and make everything to order tailored to your tastes.
