Musings on gray days

Wilfred silk shirt
Zara heels
Balenciaga clutch

I have plenty of pencil skirts, but when I saw this wool Acne a-line skirt a while back I couldn’t get the shape out of my head. We were in Vancouver recently and went to Roden Gray (a boutique with lustworthy stock of Acne, Helmut Lang, Isabel Marant..) I saw this skirt in person and had to have. The weather here has been cold and dreary and borderline manic (snow and hail yesterday followed by sunshine), but I suppose the silver lining is that I can still wear this wool skirt for a while..

Gray days are best for (over)thinking, especially coupled with a good book. Just finished Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson the other day, and this thought about the law of completion struck me.. “Everything must finally be made comprehensible…For why do our thoughts turn to some gesture of a hand, the fall of a sleeve, some corner of a room on a particular anonymous afternoon, even when we are asleep, and even when we are so old that our thoughts have abandoned other business? What are all these fragments for, if not to be knit up finally?”

Even though it's a gloomy and wet day…your outfit stands out! I love the thickness of the skirt, and how it perfectly flares out! Great knee highs and heels!!

  7. Hasn't Seattle weather been the craziest? Did you see the snow a few days ago?

I like the A line skirt. I normally opt for pencil skirts too, but feels so nice switching it up a bit.
