Foodie Friday: Walrus and the Carpenter – Seattle, WA

I’ve written about The Whale Wins, which is the sister restaurant of the Walrus and the Carpenter. The latter was actually the first to open, and is crazy successful — as in, they don’t take reservations, and if you’re not there right when it opens, be prepared to wait two hours to eat. We’ve eaten here before and I’m surprised I’ve never posted about it. Anyway, this time, we were in the neighborhood around 10pm on a weekday, so luckily we were seated right away. Good thing, because I was having one of those insane oyster craving attacks — can anyone relate?

The famous chandelier owner Renee Erickson found at a Silver Lake, LA antique shop. Ah-mah-zing.

I can’t remember all of them, but I do remember I found a new favorite oyster: Sea Cows! Other longstanding favorites: Kusshi and Kumamoto.

Oh yes, in addition to oysters, I was also longing for this steak tartare with farm egg yolk. Lovely 10pm weekday night treat mmm.

Hope everyone has a happy Friday and a fun weekend!

I had lunch at The Whale Wins for the first time this week and I absolutely loved it! I can't wait to visit Walrus and the Carpenter now. 😀

I can't related to the oyster craving… but that place looks so cool. Amazing chandelier indeed!
