Wedding Week: Modern Bride for The Everygirl

The Everygirl, a website for creative, career-driven women, contacted me to model a modern bridal look for Wedding Week. As a recently married young woman who is passionate about my career, I thought this feature was a perfect fit. Plus, it was fun to dress up as a bride again without the stress of planning a wedding! 😉

When I think “modern”, I envision a clean color palette and minimalistic yet sophisticated details. For this shoot, I wore a Rachel Zoe tuxedo jumpsuit, which is a powerful and contemporary take on the traditional wedding gown.

Left: Local floral boutique, Marigold & Mint, located in the historic Melrose Market, arranged this stunning white bouquet with tinges of sage green.

Right: I wore my own heels by Maison Martin Margiela that you may have seen on the blog before. I thought the mesh and metallic combo added an edge to complete the look.

Left: For hair and makeup, Heidi from Salon Maison in Bellevue created retro glam curls and coral lips, styled after this inspiration photo of Jessica Alba.

Right: Keep jewelry simple and elegant, yet high impact with Swarovski crystal earrings (left photo) and pearl bracelet from BHLDN. The vintage feel of these jewels is a nice contrast to the modern jumpsuit.

I love the idea of looking into more modern ways of dressing as a bride. I'm not at that stage yet but I've already decided I don't want a white long dress. I had my mind kind of set on a shorter type but now that I'm seeing this jumpsuit it's making me want to reconsider. This is a lot more me! And the bouquet, the shoes, the jewellery… I love it!

Such a different take on a wedding dress, but one that you would actually be able to wear again!

I think the accessories you chose for this look were absolutely perfect! Definitely a minimalist take, but one that really complements the jumpsuit.

Love this jumpsuit! I am thinking about purchasing it for my rehearsal dinner. If you don't mind asking – what size are you wearing? Did it require any alterations, or was there any part that didn't photograph well?

Congrats on your engagement! I'm wearing a size 2 and I did not get any alterations. I'm 5'8" and the jumpsuit fit perfectly length-wise. I think even a size 0 would work for a more tailored fit.
