A Quick Guide to Maui Food

One of my favorite things about Hawaii is the amazing food: plate lunches, shave ice, ahi poke…! I definitely had a lot of food coma naps on the beach during this trip. Below are some of my favorites sorted by area.

Lahaina

Left: Star Noodle – pork buns (not pictured), garlic noodles (not pictured), local saimin, fried soup, and local green salad (shiso ranch – so amazing!)
Right: Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice  – mango, pineapple, and li hui hing powder, and Haleakala (coconut and leche – not pictured, but my favorite!)

Left: Choice Health Bar – super delicious mango açai bowl, and green juice for a healthy morning
Right: Maui Swap Meet (Saturday in Kahului) – fresh coconut juice (tip: stroll around the market, buy local fruits and vegetables, and then return to the coconut stand when you’re done with your juice so they can slice it open for you to eat the coconut meat)

Road to Hana

Left: Kihei Caffe – banana macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup and kalua pork loco moco
Right: Bruddah Hutts – bomb ribs! Smokey, tender, meat falling off the bones

Left: Stop along the Road to Hana for stands with addictive coconut candy
Right: Shaka Pops – handmade fruit popsicles; we got pineapple ginger and passionfruit, orange, guava

Haleakala

Left: Grandma’s Maui Coffee – after watching the sunrise on Haleakala, grab breakfast and coffee here, specifically the Bullseye: fried corn beef hash over rice with egg and spam
Right: Ali’i Kula Lavender – lavender scones and lavender tea peacefully overlooking the lavender farm

Left: T Komoda Store & Bakery – guava-filled malasadas and stick donuts
Right: Eskimo Candy (in Kihei) – best ahi poke with four different types of ahi

Favorites

Left: Da Kitchen – deep fried spam musubi, chicken katsu (not pictured), and kalua pork (not pictured)
Right: Mama’s Fish House – our favorite meal! Lobster guacamole (not pictured), mahi mahi stuffed with crab and lobster, ahi steak with coconut rice (not pictured)

Ahhhh! I love Maui! I live on O'ahu but lately, I've been wanting to go back to that island especially for Ululani's!! Ululani's is my favorite shave ice ever in the entire state of Hawai'i!

Wow that means a lot coming from someone who lives in Hawaii! I loved Ululani's too. And Waiola on O'ahu!
