Dolce & Gabbana Beauty: Spring 2015

The spring makeup trend, according to Dolce & Gabbana, is feminine and playful – just choose to accentuate the eyes or lips! I’ve styled two looks with these four products. The left has a stronger eye to pair with nude lips, and the right is pared down to play up the bright pink lips. Below is a simple how-to:

Eyes:

“Tender” Eyeshadow Quad – beautiful, delicate lilac and blush tones.

The colors are buildable and semi-sheer. I’m glad there are two matte colors, as my eye shape can’t handle glittery eyeshadow (it makes my eyelids look like fish scales). The other two colors have a satin texture with a pretty, pearl sheen.

1) Apply the darkest color (lilac) on outer eyelid.
2) Dab the blush/taupe color near the inner eyelid.
3) Blend the shimmery pink/blush color into the middle of eyelid.
4) Highlight with the shimmery cream color below the eyebrow bone and inner corners of eyes.

Cheeks:

“Shimmer” Glow Illuminating Powder – lovely subtle glow in a dusty rose hue.

Spring is all about illuminating the skin! This powder is light, and contrary to the name, it’s not “shimmery” in the traditional sense, and that’s what I love about it. Rather, the powder brightens up the skin with a more natural glow. Sweep upward above the cheekbones, and brush along the bridge of the nose.

Lips:

Top: “Sugar Pink” Lipstick – pale rose with a pearl sheen – pair with dramatic, smokey eyes.
Bottom: “Bouganville” Lipstick – fun bright pink pop of color – pair with bare eyes and dark lashes.

Thank you for reading! xoxo Do you like the left or the right look more for spring?

I got a chance to interview Dolce & Gabbana‘s national makeup artist, Christian McCulloch (artist for Olivia Wilde, Scarlett Johansson, Emma Stone, and more) about his favorite spring makeup looks – read the interview here!

Digging the red lip combo more. I also think a pinker nude would work with your skin better but still pretty color alone. Well done!
