Stripes – [Northeast Road Trip: Maine]

Maine was the first stop on our Northeast road trip. We visited three towns, but our home base was in Portland (I totally recommend the Press Hotel if you’re ever in Portland — the hotel is 1920s newspaper-themed and so cute). In these photos, we were in York, a beautiful town with the classic lighthouse by the Atlantic ocean coastline.

We ate brunch (at Stone’s Throw – and you better believe we ordered a lobster roll at 9am) right across the street from York Beach with this view. The morning started out a bit dreary, but that didn’t deter east coasters from setting up shop and enjoying the beach anyway!

We visited Nubble Lighthouse, and I think I especially liked it because of its name (lil nub!).

When in New England, I always feel like wearing stripes and national colors. The patriotism is definitely strong in the east coast. Striped long sleeves are great for travel because they’re versatile — I paired it with comfy sweat shorts for a slow morning of exploring. In the evening, I’ll “dress up” the striped tee by tucking it into high-waisted jeans and polishing off the look with a red lipstick.

The New England sea side (or ocean side?) looks so beautiful! In Belgium, which is where I live, the entire coastline is lined with high rise apartment buildings from the 60s-80s and there are no open and green views like here 🙂 Happy to read you had a good time! xo
