Fall is officially a week away, and it was like the air suddenly turned crisper overnight here in Seattle. Last weekend, we drove up north to Vancouver, BC for some legit Chinese food. Since it was cooler there, I got to don a few of my fall pieces a little earlier, like this oversized plaid blazer (with a velvet lapel!) and these combat boots.
I’ve been seeing oversized plaid blazers everywhere, from street style to fashion week, so I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of this one (btw, I sized down to an XS). This blazer stood out from the rest because of the gorgeous velvet lapel, and velvet is back this season! I paired the blazer with my current favorite “mom” jeans that are high-waisted, straight-legged, and cropped. The shortened length lets me show off these new Frye combat boots. Combat boots have been so major for the past couple years (and for, like, a century), and they’re not going anywhere. I wore these boots for the first time on our trip to Vancouver, and I walked in them all day — they’re so comfortable! I bought red shoelaces and I’m going to switch them out (these sold out boots from Tod’s are my inspo).
If you’re in Seattle, go to the new Frye store opening tonight in University Village! The celebration party is from 7-9pm!
