I wore this dress (sold out, but here’s a similar midi shirtdress) about a month ago when I was in Boston and there was still that late-summer heat. As fall is upon us, there is not much time left for bare legs — that’s why I like midi dresses during this transitional season, as the longer length provides more warmth when the temperatures get a little cooler.
I got this Zimmermann dress from their motherland when I was in Australia this summer, and I was drawn to it because it’s one of their more practical styles. I love their feminine, frilly frocks, but being that I live in Seattle, I don’t get a lot of opportunities to wear those styles. On the other hand, this midi shirtdress style is so wearable — it’s thin enough that I wore it all summer, yet I can also transition the dress to fall by layering tights underneath and a midi cardigan over.
