My Valentine’s Day + Chinese New Year Gift Guide

Valentine's Day Chinese Lunar New Year gift guide

Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year are two days apart this year, and as these holidays are about celebrating love and family, I created a gift guide to treat your loved ones… and yourself!

Le Labo fragrance perfume

  • Le Labo
    • Gifting a candle/fragrance is quite personal, so it shows a level of closeness and intimacy.
    • Being able to personalize a gift makes that item even more special. On the “for:” line of the Le Labo label, you can choose from alphabet letters, Chinese characters, emojis, and more.
  • ‘Lys 41’ Eau de Parfum
    • While ‘Santal 33’ is their top-selling fragrance, I gravitate toward floral scents, and Lys 41 is a blend of jasmine and lily. It’s complex and not overly sweet — plus, it lasts all day.
    • In honor of Chinese New Year, I chose my Chinese name “袁聖茜” for the label. Having that personal touch makes this gift so memorable!
  • ‘Petit Grain 21’ Vintage Tin Candle
    • I also love citrus scents, and I’m so looking forward to Spring to burn this candle of orange blossom, bergamot, and white floral notes.

  • Drunk Elephant
    • Drunk Elephant is one of my favorite
skincare lines EVER. I’ve used almost all of
their products for years. I reviewed one of my
      favorite DE products here.
  • ‘T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial’
    • I prefer chemical exfoliation over physical,
and this mask is one of DE’s hero products. I
leave it on for 20 minutes, and with 25% AHA
and 2% BHA, this mask resurfaces my skin and
makes it, like its namesake, soo “baby” soft.

Monica Vinader Siren pendant Linear Bead bracelet

  • Monica Vinader
    • Monica Vinader jewelry is so elegant, and what I love most is how you can personalize many pieces so they become truly one-of-a-kind gifts.
    • One of the cutest ideas I heard was how a husband had his kids draw something for Mother’s Day, and Monica Vinader engraved those drawings on a pendant!
  • ‘Linear Bead Friendship’ Bracelet
    • This rose gold bracelet is beautiful in a casual way, and it can be easily layered or worn on its own as a statement.
  • ‘Siren’ Pendant & ‘Riva Diamond Kite’ Pendant
    • I wrote about this necklace last Chinese New Year in this post, and it’s still one of my most beloved jewelry pieces that I wear all the time. Having my Chinese surname “袁” engraved on the pendant symbolically keeps my family close to me even though they are in Hong Kong.
