On April 20, I celebrated my birthday with a weekend to remember. To start things off, Husband and I checked in for a staycation at the Thompson Hotel in Seattle with dinner at Canlis. My mom always told me to wear festive colors on holidays and special occasions, so I wore this bright look to dinner.
Here are my outfit details:
Self-Portrait asymmetrical dress (shop more special occasion dresses), Jimmy Choo rose gold heels (affordable version), Gucci Marmont clutch (shop more evening clutches), Urban Decay “Beso” lip gloss
Birthday Dinner at Canlis with Husband

We made a reservation through the Resy app, which I recommend because Canlis books up quickly and weeks in advance. As for dinner, you have multiple selections from a four-course prix fixe menu, and I selected:
- Poached oysters, pear, and daikon radish salad
- Dungeness crab kohlrabi and chrysanthemum
- Rib eye steak (with a side of truffle fries that our server gifted us. He said that no birthday is complete without fries, and I agree!)
- Grapefruit vanilla cremeux meringue (and our server treated us again… this time to a third dessert, which was so sweet!)
The night included some of my favorite things in life: good food, good wine, and good conversation with the best company… so my birthday was off to a great start!
Staycation at Thompson Hotel in Seattle
I love staycations because they feel like a getaway without the travel, and staying 2-nights at the Thompson Hotel was the perfect birthday weekend retreat. It’s smack dab in the middle of downtown Seattle and one block away from Pike Place Market, which made it so easy to get around. Plus, the hospitality team was so thoughtful to surprise me with a floral bouquet and adorable birthday cake!
I slept in (btw, the sleepshirt I’m wearing is from Victoria’s Secret), and we treated ourselves to breakfast in bed, which is the best way to wake up.
Afternoon Tea at The Georgian Room in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel
After a slow morning on Saturday, I got ready for afternoon tea with my girlfriends at the beautiful Georgian Room. I opted for Earl Grey tea, and we feasted on snacks and tea and chatted for hours. My besties gifted me the most darling, delicate gold and pearl ring from Catbird. I wear my wedding rings and a rose gold diamond band from my parents everyday, and now I have this one too to keep my loved ones close!
I’m so grateful for these true, time-tested friends that I’ve known for over a decade. They’ve literally been there through thick and thin, and they’re so loving, supportive, hilarious, truthful, and generous — I’m excited to grow into old ladies together!
When my girlfriends and I got back to the hotel room to get ready for dinner, we saw that my Husband had this cute setup of rosé, Compartes Birthday Cake chocolate, and cheese and charcuterie for us to snack on!
Here are my outfit details:
Spell & the Gypsy Collective lace dress (sold out – similar here & here), Chanel slingback pumps (affordable version), Moorea Seal fringe earrings (similar), Gucci Marmont clutch, NYX “Beijing” liquid lipstick
Dinner at Scout PNW

We had dinner at Scout PNW in the Thompson Hotel with our friends. I love the PNW-focus of the restaurant, so we ordered a seafood platter (when in Seattle!) and I had the Dungeness crab risotto. After, Husband surprised me with a lemon white chocolate raspberry birthday cake from Macrina Bakery, and that was one of the flavors of our wedding cake! To conclude to evening and an epic birthday, we all went up to the Nest rooftop bar for some nightcaps.
Here are my outfit details:
Self-Portrait asymmetrical polka dot top, Kenneth Jay Lane earrings (shop more statement earrings), Urban Decay “Sabbath” eyeliner pencil & “Backtalk” matte lipstick, Smith & Cult “Ice Tears” eyeshadow palette
All my love and appreciation for my Husband, who was so incredibly thoughtful and really pulled out all the stops — not only for my birthday weekend, but for seriously everyday of our lives. For my birthday present, he made me a book called “30”, and it was made up of photos and letters from my family and closest friends that he had secretly arranged for months ahead of time. When I opened that present and read his initial letter to me, I totally lost it, and then when I read everyone else’s, I just kept tearing up each time! Love makes life meaningful, and I’m thankful for all the true love in my life. Here’s to the next decade!
Happy birthday! What an amazing weekend you had! I absolutely adore that white dress and navy top! How cute are your cakes?! Love! Your husband nailed it all!
