Is there a more summery combo than gingham and linen? As summer is winding down — the temperatures in Seattle have dropped a bit and I started back up at school again — I wore this look for one last hurrah during our downtown staycation last weekend.

Since the gingham top is cropped, the high-waisted shorts seemed like a good balance of proportions. The outfit was breezy enough to be comfortable during a particularly scorching day playing tourist in my city, going to the Space Needle, Chihuly Museum, and more. Will miss summer… it’s been an amazing one!
