About 6 months ago at one of my Husband’s family reunions, his cousins talked about celebrating his big 4-0 birthday in Vegas (maybe the inspiration was fueled by one too many White Claws haha). From there, I started brainstorming and planning with his family and friends to make this milestone birthday epic!
I made Miguel a custom birthday “advent” calendar (I can share more on this in a future post) where he got a surprise gift every day of October. It led to the final week, which was a birthday trip to Vegas with family and friends!
70s-Themed Pool Party
One of Miguel’s aunts/uncles lives in Vegas so they hosted this Silk Sonic 70s-themed pool party! Though people are vaccinated, we wanted to keep activities outdoors. The warm sunny weather was a perfect getaway from rainy Seattle!

Miguel’s parents had Hawaiian Filipino food catered, and his brother who flew in from Austin brought Texas BBQ. After dinner, his grandfather initiated a special time where all the family members shared stories about Miguel. It was a fun time together!
Backyard Playground at Gold Spike
At night, we booked a couple tables at the Backyard Playground at Gold Spike. There was giant beer pong, corn hole, jenga, etc. and the music was lit! I can’t remember the last time I danced that much!

So grateful for family and friends who came to celebrate Husband’s birthday! Day 1 was such a blast!! I’ll post the other days soon. I’ve also linked similar outfit details below. You can shop more headbands, statement earrings, and printed dresses here.
