My Birthday at Takai by Kashiba

For my birthday week, we did a family road trip with baby girl, dinner with my parents, hubs took me out for omakase, and my girlfriends planned dinner and drinks. Loved all the time together with people I love the most!

Sushi Kashiba‘s one of our favorite spots in Seattle for omakase, so I wanted to check out Takai by Kashiba, opened by Chef Shiro Kashiba, his son, and head apprentice Chef Jun. It was incredible!! I highly recommend the Chef’s Counter Experience and wine/sake pairing.

Too many amazing items to list, but I will note that the sardine was THE most memorable! It was so good hubs got more at the end. We also loved the firefly squid in the beginning, as it was so tender. Another stand out item was the octopus, where the tentacle sucker was cut off and tempura-ed. And of course, the hand roll with tuna, uni, and ikura is always a crowd favorite.

Feeling extra happy this year with my best girl and little family. So grateful for all the love from our families, friends, and community. Looking forward to what’s to come!
